#1: Call for Lannang Storybook Writers & Creators
Lannang Stories is looking for passionate storytellers, writers, and creatives to help develop original children’s storybooks inspired by Lannang culture, imagination, and meaningful storytelling.
We are seeking contributors who can create engaging stories that celebrate identity, language, family, and community while making reading fun and accessible for young audiences.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants who:

Are part of the Lannang community
-
Have a strong understanding of Lannang culture and identity
-
Can communicate in Lánnang-uè (Hokkien), English, Tagalog, Mandarin, and/or another Philippine language
-
Enjoy storytelling and creating original characters
-
Have a passion for children’s literature and creative writing
-
Can produce age-appropriate content for young readers
-
Understand child development, language learning, and literacy
-
Communicate well and can meet deadlines
-
Are collaborative and open to feedback
-
Are willing to learn and work with the Lannang Orthography
Contributors May Help With
-
Writing original storybook content
-
Developing story concepts, characters, and narratives
-
Creating educational and engaging storytelling experiences
-
Building meaningful, culturally inspired stories for children
Preferred Qualifications
The following are a plus:

Experience in children’s storytelling or creative writing
-
Background in education, early childhood, literacy, or child development
-
Familiarity with the Lannang Orthography
-
Illustration or storyboarding skills

Page Two: Story Sample
Include four sample storybook lines in the following format:

Lánnang Orthography (LO / romanization)

Mandarin characters

Pinyin

English translation
Story Prompt Ideas
Choose one of the following themes:

Suann-kaú (“someone”)
-
Khiôh-tsínn (“save money”)
-
Haû-sùn (“filial piety”)
-
Suann-tiêng (“mountain top / province”)
Applicants may also propose another concept relevant to the Lannang community and experience.

Lannang Stories is looking for illustrators and layout artists to help bring original children’s storybooks to life through meaningful, culturally inspired visuals and design.
We are seeking creatives who can help craft engaging visual experiences for young readers while celebrating Lannang identity, language, and storytelling traditions.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants who:

Have a strong understanding of Lannang culture and identity

Enjoy creating visuals for children and young readers
-
Can produce age-appropriate illustrations and layouts
-
Are comfortable working across different artistic and visual styles
-
Understand storytelling through visual design
-
Communicate well and can meet deadlines
-
Are collaborative and open to feedback
-
Have experience with professional illustration, layout, or publishing software
Illustrators
-
Creating original storybook illustrations
-
Designing characters, scenes, and visual storytelling elements
-
Developing engaging, culturally inspired artwork for children
Layout Artists

Designing storybook page layouts
-
Integrating text, illustrations, and multilingual formatting
-
Preparing visually engaging and reader-friendly spreads
Preferred Qualifications
The following are a plus:

Experience in illustration, graphic design, publishing, or visual storytelling

Background in children’s media or design

Familiarity with Lánnang-uè (Hokkien), Mandarin, Tagalog, and/or another Philippine language

Familiarity with the Lannang Orthography

Experience working with multilingual layouts

Being part of the Lannang community

📌 Rough drafts and sketches are encouraged — submissions do not need to be fully rendered or finalized.
